Information and Technical Support Center

This area provides information about the artists and music featured in the BBE HIGH DEFINITION SOUND Interactive Demonstrations.  You will also find assistance with technical difficulties and frequently asked questions about our Interactive Demonstrations.

Who are the artists performing the music, and can you tell me anything about the music being performed?

The music is provided to BBE Sound, Inc. by several of our professional musician and producer friends.  All of these people use BBE professional processors in their work.

Kevin Charles Brandon, is known in the music industry as Brandino.  Brandino was producer for several of our BBE Interactive Demonstrations, and also performed as bassist on the tracks which show his name.  To learn more about Brandino and his use of BBE professional processors, please click on the following link: Brandino!

J.P. Cervoni, who performed much of the guitar playing on the BBE Interactive Demo tracks.  J.P. is well known in the Los Angeles studio scene as a really hot guitarist, and J.P. is also an accomplished producer in his own right.  Check him out:   J.P. Cervoni

Fabrizio Grossi performed as bassist on some of the BBE Interactive Demo tracks, and "Fab" works closely with J.P. on many studio projects in the Los Angeles area.  Like JP and Brandino, Fab is also active as a producer.  Have a look:  Fabrizio

One additional point of interest we would like to share is that the the electric guitars and basses used in most of the demonstrations are hand-made by G&L Musical Instruments in Fullerton, California.  G&L was founded by the late Leo Fender, whose musical instruments are largely responsible for popular music as we know it today.  G&L was Mr. Fender's last company, which he founded in 1980 with his close associate George Fullerton.  G&L instruments are widely regarded by professional musicians as some of the finest available in the  world today.  G&L has been owned and managed by BBE Sound since 1992, and G&L electric guitars and basses continue to be entirely hand-made in the historic G&L factory on Fender Avenue.  For more information about G&L handmade guitars and basses, please visit the  G&L Website .

When I turn on or off the BBE Processing, the music seems to "skip". Why is this happening and is there anything I can do about it?

There are two common causes.  First, older or slower computers have difficulty processing the large volume of data fast enough.  This is unrelated to the amount of loading time before the music starts, which is determined by the speed of your internet connection. However, once the music starts and the RESTART button appears, click on the RESTART button which helps most older or slower computers to prepare the demonstration.  For very slow computers, you may try clicking on RESTART more than once to help your computer "buffer" the audio data.

The second common cause is that your hard drive may be too full to allow your computer to operate at peak efficiency.  Without enough available space, your computer works much harder to locate and process the audio data, which your computer may have temporarily stored in "packets" in different locations on your hard drive.  Even computers with processing speeds of 300 Megahertz or more often perform more slowly with a hard disk drive more than about 3/4 full.  As a result, demanding software applications such as Macromedia Shockwave used by the BBE Interactive Demonstration do not perform as smoothly as they should.   However, clicking RESTART will probably help your computer perform the demonstration better.

The volume level seems to be low, so I can not hear the music very well.

If you have external powered speakers, check the volume level to be sure it is set high enough.  The signal levels of the Interactive Demonstrations are set so that they are similar to audio levels which normally occur in Windows or Mac OS operating systems, such as the introductory Windows chimes when you start your computer.  You should also check that your computer's internal audio controls are turned up loud enough.  For our Interactive Demonstrations, we highly recommend that your volume is medium to loud level.

I think the speakers connected to my computer are not very good.  Will I still be able to hear the demonstration well?

Better quality speakers will be able to produce a more realistic demonstration.  Any of the external powered speakers with subwoofer popular today will offer a very good Interactive Demonstration of BBE technology.  However, even inexpensive computer speakers will give you a reasonably good demonstration experience.

Please remember that these demonstrations presented in Macromedia Shockwave are not fully capable of offering the maximum improvement in sound quality acheived by using a BBE sound processor in your audio system, or by using consumer electronics featuring the BBE trademark and technology.

I already have the Macromedia Shockwave plug-in installed on my computer.  Why is it asking me to install some Shockwave components?

The BBE Interactive Demonstrations requires a newerversion of Macromedia Shockwave player.  The BBE Interactive Demonstration system detects whether your computer has a new enough version of Shockwave, and will automatically refer you to install updated Shockwave components if needed.  Allow Macromedia to automatically install the additional Shockwave components so you will be able to experience our Interactive Demonstrations.  These additional Shockwave components are free.

The difference in sound quality between BBE "On" and BBE "Off" is amazing.  Is this Interactive Demonstration really using actual BBE processing or some sort of simulation made with Shockwave?

The BBE Interactive Demonstrations use Shockwave software as the means which permits us to present these demonstrations, but the Shockwave software has no effect or influence on the sound quality.  What you are hearing is real.

Of course,  the many thousands of musicians, producers, touring sound engineers and others using BBE professional processors in their work already know that BBE technology brings a new level of clarity, definition and realism  to the sound.

BBE technology is not an equalizer or sound "effect", and is not based on reverberation or related to simulated "3D" effects.  In fact, BBE technology will improve the sound quality of any audio signal, and will also improve the quality of audio signals treated with "3D" effects.  BBE technology does not add artificial elements to the audio signal, it actually restructures the original audio signal to compensate for fundamental limitations inherent in all loudspeakers, regardless of their size, quality or price.

We welcome you to view our BBE Users list to see a small number of world renown musicians, bands, sound engineers and others who rely on BBE sound processors for the highest quality sound available today.  For professionals who must have the best sound, there is no substitute for BBE technology.  Regardless of the quality and sophistication of your sound system, BBE technology will "reveal all the sound you've never heard".
